A very Good Morning to you all!

A few weeks ago I thought I would be sitting on a warm sunny beach in Mexico on this Saturday morning, instead I write to you from my sunny dining room in Paris, Ontario!!  The sun still feels lovely on my face even though I cannot hear the waves ☺

Until we know with certainty when the shift back to "normal" will be, I am excitedly starting the process for online lessons.  I have been watching my online music teacher colleagues from other parts of Canada and around the world, successfully make the switch to virtual teaching and have garnered all sorts of amazing and fun ideas!  My Music Staff, the online software program that I use, has also been working very hard to help teachers and families make the transition go smoothly.

Over the next few days I will be sending out all of the information to hopefully answer questions and give you directions on how to set things up on your end.....and it is NOT hard!!!  I will also be posting the information on the parent/student portal.  We can even do some test runs so that we are all good to go starting  Saturday, March 28th.

I am looking forward to reconnecting with all my students again.  This house/studio is far too quiet!!!!

Until then, drink lots of water, cut back on sugar intake, get outside for  immune boosting Vitamin D and fresh air AND MAKE MUSIC!!!!!

Very Warm Regards

OCTOBER EVENTS

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!

(The studio will be closed Sat, October 12 through Mon, October 14 for the observance of Thanksgiving as well as Thurs, October 31 for Halloween.  No lessons have been scheduled in the yearly calendar for these two days.)

Well we are four weeks into the year and things are going very well.  Halloween/Fall pieces are nearly ready for our annual trip to Telfer Place.  The date for this highly anticipated event is SATURDAY, OCTOBER 26TH at 2:00PM.  Students should wear a costume or wear orange and black clothing.  Please let me know if your child is unable to participate that day, as I need to let the staff at Telfer know the number of students coming that day.  This event is for all Private and Partner students.  If your child is enrolled in either KiddyKeys or a piano class, they will be participating in recitals later in the year.  However, they are more than welcome to come and listen!!!

GROUP LESSON WEEK (for private/partner students) is the week of OCT 21-26.  I have included a group lesson on the Monday this time around, although due to holiday Mondays that fall on most group lesson weeks, it won't always be an option.  The times are now online for registration.  For new families, login to your account on musicaldiscoveries.mymusicstaff.com, click on the calendar icon in the menu, click on the group you want to register for and add your child's name.  PLEASE NOTE, numbers are limited due to activities and room size.  THERE ARE NO REGULARLY SCHEDULED LESSONS DURING GROUP LESSON WEEK.  The only exception are KiddyKeys and Keyboard Kickoff piano class, as they do no participate in group lessons.

LOOKING AHEAD:

I have some fun challenges and incentives to foster learning and encourage good practice habits. The first one is the "Dynamic Turkey Challenge" which will begin October and finish up on November 2.  I will be posting a picture of Tempo the Turkey along with the instructions should students need assistance.

Our next Group Lesson week is December 16 through 21.  MARK YOUR CALENDARS.  The online calendar is up to date up until the end of December.
